Image Bank - Wide Angle

These two photographs shot at wide angle are both capturing brides but from different angles. The first is capturing the bridge from below and the other is on the top. However they both have the same effect where the bridge appears to get smaller as it goes into the distance which captures depth.

These two photographs are capturing the landscape. The first is in London and due to all of the skyscrapers and the low angle the photograph is shot at it makes the buildings appear to lean inwards and so make the bottom of the photograph appear wide. The second is of a 'u' shaped river around and inside a rocky area. Due to the central rock and the central positioning of the camera this photograph makes the rocks look as if they are leaning outward and so making the whole landscape look wide.

These two photographs capture one object which is close to the camera and so in focus and makes the rest of the background appear to be smaller and going into the horizon. In the first the dog is the main focus and so blocks some of the background which makes the straw field it is in to look wide. In the second it is a young boys shoe which is the main focus and so it looks larger than the background making it appear to be lengthier than it actually is. The use of objects/animals gives the photograph a focus and so makes the background appear wider in contrast to what is in focus.
