Jamie Nelson
Jamie Nelson is a commercial photographer who was born in Texas but is now based in New York. Her work mainly focuses on fashion and beauty photography, her work can be seen in international editions of Vouge, Elle, Cosmopolitan , Vanity Fair and several others. She has colaberated with several brands such as benefit, urban decay and maybelline.
This photograph is from her collaboration with maybelline. I liked this photograph as it shows the brush being used with the application of the product aswell as the product on the models lips, I like the way this looks.
This photograph is showing a model staring into the camera, the bright pink eye makeup on the model makes her eyes and her eyeshadow the main focus of the image as it is what the eye is immediately focused on. The rest of the makeup is fairly plain so the attention is not taken away from the models eyes.
I like this photograph as it is using two different lip colours on different lips which do not clash together. Bold colours have been used as to show the difference of colouring in the lips. The use of the close up technique has resulted in the texture of the lip and lipstick being captured which would not have normally happened if the shoot was of the models whole face.
