Work Diary - Personal Shoot 1

For my first shoot, i got a model to apply her make up and i took photographs of her after each stage. I wanted to create one multiple image which showed the stages of makeup application and the difference each individual product had on the appearance of the model.
This image of the model has the face in focus but where the artificial light was behind and too the left of the image, one side of her face is brighter than the other and so the image does not have a good lighting ratio. However this image does capture the colours of the eye makeup well as the light is not washing out the colours. The composition of this image could be improved by getting the models whole frame in the shot and having less background above the top of the model.

Similarly to the above image, there is too much light on one side of the model which has caused half of her face and the detail in the makeup to be washed out. The composition of this image is slightly better from the image above as their is more of the model in the photograph.

However some of the photographs are all taken at different distances and from different angles. If I was to redo this shoot I would use a tripod to overcome the issue of different sizes of the model in the images as this was an issue when trying to make an animation of the images.

In my next shoot I would like to experiment with the idea of a 'pop-art' makeup look similar to that of Alexander Khoklov as his work has a surreal element to it which I found facisnating when looking at his work.
