For this image i decided to use the technique of selective colour. I did this as i wanted to draw the attention to the colours in the headband, as well as using the black and white to make the shadows/contour on the models face stand out. I feel this image has a good composition as the model is in the middle of the photograph and there is a good amount background around the model but not too much that the model is no longer the main focus of the image. I feel this image captures a lot of personality due to the models facial expressions and pose. However i feel this image has an underlying playful tone. I feel this image captures the models natural looking makeup well and the lighting really helps boost the contouring effect on the cheeks and nose. This is transmitting the ideology of beauty through a model with a natural makeup posing in a silly but natural pose. It shows that beauty can be shown in ways other than the typical heavily made up models.
If i was to re-do this shoot i would have taken a different approach and used a high key technique so that the model and any coloured props boldly stand out against the white background. This technique would enhance the features of the model and photograph.
In my next shoot i would like to revert back to a more cosmetic based shoot and work on more cosmetic images, in the style of Courtney Dailey by using props of a similar saturated colour to the cosmetic to enhance the image.

a good improvement also reflect on the connotations and, camera settings and lighting diagram..
