I arranged the lipsticks in a triangle shape and took photographs both with and without the lids around the bases. However I decided that the images looked best without the lids. The use of gels affected how the images came out, when a pink gel was used it gave the images a more feminine tone to the image. I liked the the effect the pink gel had on the image.
This is one of the photographs captured when the pink gel was covering the artificial light. I like how a warm and feminine tone is added to the image. I cropped out the rest of the background as there was a lot of empty background and i feel it distracts from the main focus of the image. If i was to reshoot this image i would use new lipsticks as the lipsticks are all different lengths.
This image is one in which i shot the lids by the lipsticks, however i feel this made the image look too busy and decided the images looked better without them. Also as there was a light was positioned behind the lipsticks it has created shadows coming forward which is something i would change if i was to reshoot this image.
If i reshot this shoot i would use a high key technique to remove all shadowing from the image and make the colours of the lipsticks look bolder. I would also use pink gels throughout the shoot as i like the pink tone it creates over the images as it makes the overall image look more feminine.
In my next shoot i will be doing a simple model shoot and this will show an appreciation for beauty and hopefully i will capture images that transmit the models personality.
